About us

Assist in Gravitation and Instrumentation (AGI) is a limited liability company established in 2008 as a spin-off of the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF). The company's mission is to transfer technology and know-how acquired in the field of fundamental and space physics to geophysics and industrial research for natural resources (oil, gas, etc.).

AGI holds extensive experience and knowledge in the realm of space activities, both from a scientific standpoint and in managing complex projects. This experience of its CEO stems from over 20 years of engagement in fundamental physics, including participation as an INAF researcher in various experiments, e.g. ISA (implementation of an accelerometer for BepiColombo, an ESA space mission for Mercury exploration); GREAT (experimental test of the Equivalence Principle of General Relativity). AGI has also been a partner in the FISICA research project funded by FP7 and has developed an instrumental prototype for a CubeSat.

Already today, AGI can provide a wide variety of technological solutions for precision measurements (e.g. accelerometers, seafloor gravimeters, gravitational gradiometers, etc.) that find application in gravimetry and seismic monitoring. An important application of these tools, OS-ISĀ®, was developed within the European project "Wind, Ports, and Sea" in collaboration with partners such as INGV, aimed at remote monitoring of sea waves.

Through involvement in these research programs, AGI has gained and consolidated expertise in research and development, along with collaborations with key stakeholders such as INGV, ENI spa, Port Authority of La Spezia, Universities, and more.
